Silvestro Palma death record

Post by Jamiepalma2 »

Hoping I have the right Silvestro Palma this time. I believe I am reading the first name correctly. If someone doesnt mind translating this for me. The one I am looking for would have been born around 1887 and was alive when his son got married in 1830. Wifes name would have been Maria Basilisco.

No, this Silvestro Palma was only 1 month old. Father was Ferdinando, mother Anna Maria.

You've got a year wrong. Are you meaning born circa 1787 and still living 1830?

This mother is Angela Rosaria. Who were Silvestro's parents?

Do not know the names of his parents. I know his wife was named Maria Basilisco.

So thoughtful of you - I think. :)

I just need to check the following:

Death No 143: Silvestro Palma
Pianella: 17 December 1845, 11 pm.

Giuseppe Palma, son of the deceased, 41 yo, contadino, living in Pianella, and Giuseppe Colafante?, 62 yo, contadino, reported that on 16 December 1845, at 11 pm died in his home Silvestro Palma, widower of deceased Maria Basilisco. He was 82 yo, born in Pianella, contadino, living in Pianella, son of deceased C...... Palma, and deceased Angela Rosaria.

I'll check on the father's given name. It doesn't look right.

Edit to Add:

The father's given name is exactly what it looks like: Candeloro. It's a new one on me. Unfortunately Angela Rosaria's surname is not given. It possibly wasn't known to the declarants.

 haha trying to sneak one past ya

Thank you for double checking on that name. I am so excited we finally found some information on him. And its narrowed my search down for his wifes death record. Now i know it was after 1830 and before 1845.

You are very welcome. I'm so pleased you found the right one. You are going well. It's not easy looking through some of these records with often tricky but very beautiful script, and not being familiar with the language as well. Good on you for persevering. BTW: You obviously have some good genes in your ancestry, they seem to live to good ages. :D

Thank you for the kind words. The handwriting has been very difficult at times. I have gotten a few headaches from all the research. I am determined to get this done in time for the holidays to give to my grandfather. I really do appreciate everyone on here. I wouldnt have been able to do this without everyones help. :D
