naturalization GGma/ GGpa

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

naturalization GGma/ GGpa

Post by BaldelliGT »

My Grandpa was born in 1929.

My Great Grandpa left the family a year later to start a new family 15 years later. Anyways my Great Grandma naturalized 1939 and listed herself as widowed in the 1940 census even though we know that is not the case as my great grandpa died in 1973.

Does my Great Grandma naturalization records carry over to my Great Grandpa... did he become naturalized through her?
IF SO Since my Grandfather was born before records of her being naturalized is this sufficient for proving he was born before his parents naturalization?

Thanks,
B

Your great grandfather did not naturalize due to your great grandmother's naturalization.

If you trace citizenship through your great grandmother (and you certainly can do that) you will have to do so with a lawsuit since it would be a 1948 case.
