Hi! I found a death record of a relative named Fracesco Paolo Taddeo. I need some assistance with translating the death notice. Did he die in the hospital?
http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 9.jpg.html
This is what I have been able to decipher:
Date of Death: January 21, 1884
Name of Deceased: Francesco Paolo Taddeo, Age 62, born in Campobosso, married to Lucrezia De Gioia
Address: Via Largo Umberto #31, Molfetta (?)
Parents: Cosmo Taddeo (deceased) and Maria Saveria di Toro (?)
If I missed anything important, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your help!

Sue, the colours arn't working, so I've made a couple of changes which I've placed within brackets, so hope it's clear.ItalianbellaSA wrote: 19 Jan 2017, 00:50 Hi! Edit to Add: Yes, it looks like he did die in the hospital. I'll have a closer read.

To add to what Angela wrote-the name of the place given in the record from where the notice of his death was received was the Monte di Pieta`(e) Ospedale, a charitable institution in Molfetta.

Thanks Erudita. I missed Sue's question at the start and went back and reread the record. I hadn't realised you'd also posted here. Thanks for the backup:-)

No problem, Angela. I was trying to find the name of the place online to make sure I had deciphered it correctly.

I've just been looking through the other records in Part 3. It seems like there were a few hospital deaths - maybe some sort of epidemic?

I hadn't looked at the other records but now see that the name of the hospital was written more clearly in them. Also the dates seem close together. Without causes of death in these records though, it's really hard to say if the deaths were due to an epidemic. I would think that Sue would have to search for historical information for the town of Molfetta to see if there was an epidemic there during the time frame of these records.
