Maj. Gen. Constantino Salvi - Italian Army WWII

As a nation state, Italy has emerged only in 1871. Until then the country was politically divided into a large number of independant cities, provinces and islands. The currently available evidences point out to a dominant Etruscan, Greek and Roman cultural influence on today's Italians.

Maj. Gen. Constantino Salvi - Italian Army WWII

Post by Liberati »

I am looking for information on Maj. Gen. Constantino Salvi, who commanded the Italian Army's 201st Coastal Division in France during WWII and later died in Flossenburg Concentration Camp as a German POW. He was born on April 28, 1886 and died on January 17, 1945. I am especially interested to learn where in Italy he was born and anything else about his career and family history. Thanks!
Interested in the surnames Liberati, Altiero, and Gulfo. Also interested in Italy during World War II.

According to a book you can find snippets for in Google: "Uomini, donne e bambini nel lager di Bolzano",
Costantino Salvi was born in Ravenna on Apr 28, 1886.
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi
