FamilyHistory.Org records

Post by trecaromia »

There is a free site call FamilyHistory.org by the Mormon Church. You are able to access records in Italy and Sicily from their site. On their front page where you do search there is a global map. If you click on Italy it will bring up a menu and you scroll until you find Italy. Once you click on it it will bring up another menu. I had to find Palermo and then Montelepre to search records. These records have been digitalized from the originals in Italy and Sicily by Missionaries of the LDS CHurch. They are not all recorded, but a lot are. It is time consuming, but a wealth of family history is there. If you can download a sheet to help you decipher latin and italian it will be of great help to you. I hope this helps those searching their families.

You probably mean https://familysearch.org/search :?:

The site "familyhistory.org" appears to be some sort of repository of sponsored links. Wouldn't even load properly in Firefox, for me.
Surnames of interest:
Artale, Minincleri, Cattat (Accattato), Manfredi, Licetti, Durso, Pizzuto
