I'm looking for a read on this record of baptism for my ancestor Giuseppa Bangione.
The date of the event appears to be the 6th but I'm not certain of the month. November? The year is certainly 1640. Giuseppa was born on the same day.
I can't quite decipher the names of her parents on this document though they appear to be Antonio Bangione and Giovanna di Vigni on her record of marriage.
As far as her godparents go I can only make out her godfather's given name, Giuseppe. Giuseppe's surname appears to be the same as the first name of his father? Io sono un po confuso.
Any help you can offer is always appreciated. Grazie mille!
Steve

It's hard....
Date is "6 eiusdem"; the previous record seems to be of "6 7bris", but several records before seem to have date "Xbris", and in the following page they do, too; so, I lean towards december.
Mother' s name seems to me to be Joana, but I couldn't say about father's. And yes, I read the surname as Bangione or Banzione.
Godfather was Giuseppe Dominici son of Domenico (Josephus Dominici f Dominici) eand Francesca (?)
Godmother ?

I think the godmother's first name was Maddalena-I see "Mad" with an "a" up in the air. The godparents were of this country (meaning town) and parish.

Erudita, I think you are right, but isn't that godfather's mother (what I read as Fra(ncesc)a )?erudita74 wrote: 14 Mar 2017, 14:18 I think the godmother's first name was Maddalena-I see "Mad" with an "a" up in the air. The godparents were of this country (meaning town) and parish.

Yes, Pippo, what I'm reading as Maddalena, and you read originally as Francesca, is the mother of the godfather, Giuseppe Domenico, and not the godmother.
