Birth record - Vincenzo Stella

Post by Jen5525 »

Hi all,

I think this birth record indicates that the parents are not married, but living together, is that correct?

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Here is his sister, Maria Vincenza Stella (1885)

sister Rosa (1892)

brother Raffaele

if so, no wonder I couldn't find a marriage record for the parents, Vitantonio Stella & Prudenza Latela!

Is there anything else noteworthy in the records?

thanks!

Father, Vitantonio's birth in 1843

Parents:
Vincenzo and Maria Nizzi (?)

Also, there is a notation at the bottom of the second page that appears to reference Prudenza LaTela. But I'm not sure what it says. I guessed it might be there marriage and it was. It looks like Prudenza was a minor at the time of the marriage. But they were married it appears, so why would all their children's birth records not indicate she was his wife?

Marriage 1878 in Conversano

But there is another notation referencing Trani and July 1882. But I can't figure out what that is in reference to?

All four records show Prudenza La Tela as legitimate wife of Vitantonio Stella, living with him

The notation at the bottom of the second page was written July 14 1882 and states that Vitantonio married Prudenza La Tela, daughter of Raffaele, on Jan 2 1878.

Thanks Liviomoreno! That solves a big part of the mystery. in the second page notation, is there any relevance to the reference of "Trani" in relation to the July 14 1882 date? I know Trani is another town in Bari.

But I'm having difficulty fitting that into the puzzle, since they were married in Conservano and all the children that I know of were born in Conservano. The marriage was 1878 and the first birth I have located is 1885 (which is a pretty big span).

I guess I'm trying to figure out if there's a reason for that which could be explained by the "Trani" reference in the notation?

thanks!
