Angela,

Could you post the records again for me? I had a computer problem. Thanks for your help?

I found the record of an ancestor with the occupation: "servente comunale." What exactly did he do?

Hi John

Briefly:

The above 1837 Birth Record you have posted is here: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

Civil Records for Solopaca can be found here: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... Benevento/

Check both "Solopaca" and "Solopaca and Telese"

Re the occupation "servente comunale" - they were a "town attendant".

Angela,

Thanks for the website information. When I went to the website, they asked that you to install their cookies on your computer? I am concerned about the possibility of installing a virus in my computer, especially after I my recent problems with the computer. Have you installed their cookies on your computer?

Always happy to help, John. Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you - I currently have friends visiting/staying with me and I'm showing them round our town (my favourite occupation).

Re: cookies - if you are not comfortable, then you don't need to. I've used the Italian site with and without cookies and it doesn't seem to make any difference to accessing the site. I do a lot of my reseach at the library where we don't allow cookies and I haven't noticed any difference. (One of my mottos is "If in doubt, don't.) The less files you have on your computer the better.

All for now.

Angela :)

Hi again

I've since had a good talk to one of my sons about "cookies" and he basically said that if it is a "reputable" site, not to be concerned. :)
