Guarda Veneta, Rovigo

I recently learned that my ancestors are from a little town in the province of Rovigo, called Guarda Veneta. I only have a generation of information about the Periotto family. Any information about the Periotto family would be helpful. Also, I have not been able to find photos of the cemetery. I would be interested in photos of the tombstones. Really, any information about this little town from the 1800s to the early 1900s would be helpful. Thank you.

That is so helpful, thank you! Adolfo Giovanni Periotto is my grandfather's brother. There's another brother named Arturo Periotto that died in World War I. I think there is a plaque in his honor in Guarda Veneta. I know he had sisters but I do not know their names. My grandfather, Domenico Periotto, immigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina in the 1930's. I do not believe that I have any records of my grandfather from Italy except maybe a civil registration. It would be helpful to have any records about him when he was in Italy. I am also interested in the family of Antonio Periotto (father) and Elizabetta Zagato (mother). Finally, my grandfather left Italy due to the political upheaval in Italy prior to World War II. The history of the area would be interesting. Thank you for your help.

Domenico Periotto was born in 1900 and the birth records of Guarda Veneta for 1900 are not available on line.
I have already sent a letter to the Comune of Guarda Veneta for it.

The Comune of Guarda Veneta responded immediatly and sent me a photocopy of the birth certificate.

Wow. That's wonderful! I don't understand the birth certificate. I don't see where it says Domenico's name. I wonder if part of it is missing.

The Ufficiale di Stato Civile of Guarda Veneta wrote that in side note both the date of marriage and the number of the act are wrong.
The Officer will send me the corrected document in about three weeks.
