Birth record and note in border

Post by wlattuca »

Wondering if someone can help me translate the attached copy of a record?

Also wonder if the note in the border, above the record, is also for this record?

The birth record is dated Sept 1, 1888. The infant was a foundling and was only a few hours old when he was found and presented at the town hall by the person who was the receiver of abandoned children. So his first and last names were names assigned to him at the time of the presentation.

The notation in the margin concerns his recognition as the son of Rosa Mastropaolo, which was done by a notary act, dated Nov 29, 1888. This record is #87 in the Second Part of the 1888 birth records. In this record, it states that she gave birth to him on Aug 31st at 9 a.m. and abandoned him at the wheel for abandoned children at 11 P.M. ** (see below)

Here is a link to that record:

There is a notation in the margin of this record concerning his marriage to Maria Dell'Apa in Campobasso. The date looks like April 3, 1930, Act #46.

** he was assigned to a balia, wetnurse, by the name of Filomena Barile, the wife of Andrea d"Andrea from Sepino.
