Hello, Everyone-
My Italian translation "skills" (I use that term loosely) only go so far. I'm wondering if I'm missing anything truly relevant in, for example, an Antenati record that cites some boiler-plate stuff, plus other handwritten inclusions.
For example: 1846 Marriage record between Luigi Arigo/Arico and Maria Giovanna Crisafulli (Immagine 120-122, Record No. 59):
http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 3.jpg.html
This is what I "see":
Record No.: 59
Record Dated: 23 Jul 1846 at 12:00, in the comune of Messina, District of Messina, Province of Messina
Appeared (Groom): Luigi Arigo, single, age 24, born in Messina, District of Messina, Province of Messina, cobbler/shoemaker, residing in Strada del Corso, son of deceased Francesco and of deceased Maria Pallicino (sp.?)
Appeared (Bride): Maria Giovanna Crisafulli, (profession? - Fattigatrice??), age 21, born in Messina, in... (I think this might be one of the 6 "circles" of Messina, but not sure), daughter of deceased Letterio and of Giuseppa Mazzola (same profession as bride), living in the village of Portalegni
Parish/Witnesses: In the parish of San Lorenzo on 3 Aug 1846, in the presence of witnesses Rosario Mazola and Fillip Cavalarao, and others
Anything already lacking/incorrect from above, it's the next several pages wherein I get a bit lost. I see references are made/were provide for:
1. Birth Record of (male) spouse (male)
2. Birth record of (female) spouse
3. Death Record of father and grandfather of (male) spouse
4. Notification of no objection to marriage (??)
Then, what seems to be a parade of witnesses. As to the docs cited, these would be part of the Allegation, no? Although in this case no such records seemingly exist.
Again, this is where my translation skills are lacking. Appreciate any input here. I will check in later...
Thanks,
Mark
