Hi,

thank you!
Help with marriage record
Re: Help with marriage record
Dated Feb 21, 1870 at 9 P.M. in the house of Don Luigi Grieco in San Fele
There was a request made to the town official by Don Domenico Grieco to transfer to his house on Strada Castello, the celebration of marriage between Berardino Maria Filomeno Calabrese and Mariantonia Carolina Grieco. All of the necessary documents prior to the marriage including birth acts and marriage publications had been filed. Also a certificate justifying the bride's inability to appear at the town hall was included, but it doesn't specify the reason why she couldn't get herself to the town hall. The record just reads that she couldn't transfer herself there.
The groom was age 32, a medical doctor, and had never before been married. He was living in San Fele and was the son of Don Bartolomeo (Calabrese) who was living with his son. He was also the son of deceased Donna* (title) Rosa Mecca.
The bride was also never before married, age 27, a gentlewoman, and the daughter of Don Luigi Grieco (a lawyer) who was living with his daughter and also the daughter of deceased Donna (title) Teresa Mecca.
The mothers' surnames in the record does look like Mena, but Mecca is a surname in the town
*there should be another page to the record.

Re: Help with marriage record
Thank you, Erudita. It doesnt explain the relationship between Domenico and Luigi Grieco? Is this normal presentation for a wedding? I''m not sure if I am reading correctly, but Domenico offered his home for the marriage?
