I am guessing this is the death record of Carmela Genco, wife of Ignazio Natale, 32 years old, died March 1816, widow of Calegro Santo and Paulo Ferrara. Is that even close? Does it mention the name of the Church or city?

Re: Help with death record
This is my interpretation of what it seems to be saying. These church records are not always the easiest to read so it might need some tweaking:
(Donna) Carmela Gionenco? of Paolo Parrocchia Madre???, (I am suggesting that this might be the parish she belonged to but am not 100% sure on this - someone else will know), wife of Don Ignazio Natale, 32 yo, died, S.S. - (Sanctissimi Sacramenti – Holy Sacraments .......?), 9 March 1816 (dod) and was buried in the holy field i.e. cemetery (Campo Santo), and of...........?
It looks like they have crossed out some of the letters in Carmela's surname, so it could possibly be Genco???? Not sure.
Don and Donna are just titles like Lord and Lady.

Thanks!
The main church in Polizzi is written as Chiesa Madre. Could Parrocchia Madre be the Palermo cathedral? Do you really see Paolo near the church name?

Re: Help with death record
No, I don't, I wasn't sure about this and that is why I added the questions marks, hoping someone else would know. All I see is the abbreviations: "Pal...(raised) o" - "Parr ... (raised) a" "Madre" It would make sense for Palermo to be abbreviated to "Pal....o" so maybe that's what it is. Madre would be the "mother church" so I guess the principle church in the town would be the Cathedral, so it could very well be the Cathedral. Hopefully someone else will be able to verify this. There are a lot of people on the forum expert in Palermo records, but they may not read this forum. Maybe post the record on the "locations" forum and someone will be able to help.bvbellomo wrote: 20 Nov 2017, 13:09 Thanks!

Re: Help with death record
The deceased was of Palermo. Her surname in the record is Giovenco. The parish referred to in the printed section of the document is S. Nicolo` de Kalsa. Kalsa was an old Arabic quarter of Palermo. The abbreviation for Palermo in the script section of the record is Pal with an "o" up in the air. After her age of 32, and before the SS, is the abbreviation for the Latin word "munita-the mun with the small "a" up in the air). So she was protected by the holiest sacraments-meaning that, as Angela said, she had received them before her death. Those would have been the sacraments of Penance or Confession, Holy Communion or the Eucharist, and Extreme Unction, or the Last Rites.
