Post by ddpalumbo »

I have a handwritten marriage document from Stato di Bari, Altamura, 1872. Can someone please translate the full text of this for me? Or recommend a service that can do this? The document is attached. Thank you in advance. Daniel Palumbo. Also here is the link http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ecord%2019

Death of Giuseppe Cornacchia - father of Marco Antonio, and grandfather of Vito :-)

#403 - dated 15 November 1809 in Altamura
Giuseppe Cornacchia was age 40, a shepherd residing in strada del Castello Marilodi(?)
He leaves 5 children: first - Maddalena, age 30; Lucia, age 25; Massimo, age 12; Saverio, age 11; and Marcantonio, age 10
The name of his wife is not given... (listed as Maria Cesaria Mastromarino in the marriage record of Marcantonio)

NOTE: there may be an error in this record (probably Giuseppe's age) since it would be difficult to be age 40 and have a living child of age 30!

Here is the marriage of a brother of Marcantonio Cornacchia (Massimo Cornacchia) in 1822 in Altamura
#7 - dated 24 January 1822
Groom: Massimo Cornacchia, age 29, born in Altamura, a shepherd residing in Strada San Pietro #14; son of deceased Giuseppe Cornacchia who was a shepherd, and of Maria Rosaria Mastromarino who was present and consenting.
Bride: Paola Colonna, age 21, born in Altamura, residing in Strada San Nicola #17; daughter of Tommaso Colonna, hoer, residing here, present and consenting; and of deceased Pasqua Azzilonna, residing here in her lifetime.
Documents presented:
1 - Act of birth of the groom
2 - Act of birth of the bride
3 - Act of death of the father of the groom in tis town on 15 November 1809
4 - Act of death of the grandfather of the groom in this town on 24 August 178x (worm holes prevent seeing last digit - but we know it to be a "1" from Marcantonio's marriage record)
5 - (Can only read part) Act of death [of mother of the bride?] looks like 18 November 1817.
