Hi Donna
I'm going out on a limb with this one, as I've been looking at a closeup of this record for days. I'm not sure what the groom's surname is, but I believe his mother's surname is Cornacchia. In the record where it says he was born and living in, perhaps the letter that looks like a j is actually a z. I know it looks more like a g at the bottom of the record. So I'm thinking possibly the town of Anzano di Puglia in Foggia Province. Currently the surname Cornacchia is found in another town in Foggia Province (Monteleone di Puglia). Anyway, just a suggestion. It might help to be sure of the groom's surname.

erudita,
thanks for your thoughts on this. you are correct with the mother's surname of cornacchia. the groom's surname is rossi - the second page, which i did not attach, has his signature, but no other reference to his town of birth. rossi seems to be a bit too common to narrow the field.

thanks again.

Hi Donna
Never would have guessed that the initial letter in the groom's surname was an R. Sorry that I can't be more definitive concerning the town name.

I managed to get a copy of the Marriage Bann which is clearer. I also agree that the town is Anzani which is obviously clearer in the document I've posted below.

Donna, I have also saved the Marriage Record Pages 1 and 2 which are a little clearer than the copy you posted here. Let me know if you would like these as well.

Edit to Add: I just tried clicking on the image here and I notice that you can't really zoom in on it that well. If you save it to your computer you should be able to zoom in on it that way.

If you hit the control key and the plus sign on your keyboard, you can zoom in on the image a lot.
