Would an elementary school have records?
Would an elementary school have records?
Would an elementary school in Italy have records with student's addresses from the early 1900's? Has anyone had experience with this?
Re: Would an elementary school have records?
I have never seen any and honestly don't know if any exist. You could try contacting the library in the town in question to see if they have any records. What town are you searching?

I have seen this only in Sora but not with address, just names and grades.

Re: Would an elementary school have records?
Thanks for the replies. I am trying to find the exact addresses of where my grandparents lived in Troia, Province of Foggia. They are Concettina Giannini and Antonio Landini. I am planning a trip over there this summer and want to see the houses they lived in. I believe I have located the name of the elementary school that my grandparents attended. I was hoping that I could write to the school and ask for their addresses.
Re: Would an elementary school have records?
Do you have the years they were born? if you track down their Italian birth records, you could find an address that way.
There are online records at the link below. You just need to sign in with a username and password to access the Italian records. You can access any of the records from your home computer, if you click on the camera icon to the right of each listing.

Re: Would an elementary school have records?
If they were alive and living in the town after 1936 the Comune 'anagrafe' office should have the family's address. Even if the parents were still alive the house should be the same one.

Re: Would an elementary school have records?
Thanks again. I have been on Family Search and have looked at the online records in the Library for the birth year of 1904 for my grandmother. There are 3,304 of them. It doesn't look like it has been indexed to search. Is there a particular order to the records? Trying to read Italian and Latin is also slowing me down
. Are there any helpful hints to try and find the "needle in the haystack?!!!"

Here is a map showing the location of Largo Leppe. It appears to be an alleyway off the main streets.

Re: Would an elementary school have records?
Thank you so much!!! The link to the birth record you provided was definitely my grandmother. Thanks for the links to the indexes -- I can search for more family -- and I can see where they lived when I visit this summer. I very much appreciate your help!
Re: Would an elementary school have records?
Thank your for the map. That was so thoughtful of you!!!

Re: Would an elementary school have records?
I have been trying to locate Concettina Giannini's parent's birth records and would like to ask for help. The birth record for Concettina was in your 13 March post above. The father's name was Alessandro Matteo Giannini and the mother's name was Maria Rosaria Loiacono. Their parent's names were Angelo and Anna Maria Giannini (that's all we know). We have been told that Alessandro Matteo was born November 1, 1870 and that is what is on the gravesite here in Washington,DC. However, I found a record for 1869, #192 at the link below. Was this an earlier Alessandro Matteo who died and then another son was given the same name later on or am I completely off track? I tried looking at 1870 but the records were hard for me to read. For Maria Rosaria, we have a birth date of October 2, 1874. I'd like to know the addresses of where Alessandro Matteo Giannini and Maria Rosaria Loiacono were born and to confirm the birth dates. Thank you very much.
