Re: More Translation help
Marco Antonio was age 56. His wife's age is not given in the record. It just says she was living with him. The date of birth was July 23, 1868. The record is dated on the 24th, but the birth took place "il giorno di ieri alle ore sette"-the day of yesterday at 7.

Re: More Translation help
Thank you. Marco Antonio was 56? I had his birth year as 1824, based on this record it should be closer to 1812? that is quite a difference. I have Rosa' dob of birth in my records as also being 1824, which would make her 44. That seems a bit old for having a baby during that time period doesnt it?
Re: More Translation help
In this record, Marco Antonio's age IS given as 56 and Rosa is said to be his wife. Unfortunately, I don't see any church records for the town to get you records for the early 1800s to confirm his or Rosa's year of birth. I also haven't seen other records for children of this couple, but ages of parents have been known to vary in their children's records. The father of my husband's one grandmother had two previous marriages before he married her mother in HER Sicilian town. His two previous wives had passed away before he relocated. He was well into his 60s, when he had a number of children with this third wife. As to Rosa's age, 44 was not that old for a woman to still be having children. Marianna may have been the couples' last child, but maybe not. Since I don't have access to the earlier records from this town, I really can't say.

Re: More Translation help
I do believe Marianna was their last child. The records I have is they had 4 daughters.
Carmela Locicero born June 29, 1854, Antonina LoCicero b. 1856, then she much had died because they had another daughter name Antonina born in 1864, and then finally Marianna born in 1868.

Re: More Translation help
If Rosa was only 44 in 1868, it's possible that Marianna was not the last of the couple's children. Some women have/had children into their 50s. There might even be a larger gap between Marianna's birth and any subsequent child born than there was between her older siblings and her.
