Marriage translation Conti/Paolucci

Post by suekitt53 »

Hi, could I please get help with a translation of this marriage record? I'm trying to attach all 4 pages but I'm not sure it's working correctly. (May have to add the other pages in "replies".) Anyway, thanks in advance!

It is much easier if you just post the link to the record :-)

Here it is:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2046896

This is the cover sheet for the allegati (attachments) to the marriage record...
It shows that the spouses are Angelo Conti and Filomena Paolucci
Dated 1888 - REcord #15

The next page is the certificate from the official that the celebration of marriage took place before him between:
Groom: Angelo Conti, farmer born in Genga, residing in Genga, age 27, unmarried son of deceased Paolo who lived in Genga and of the living Anna Maria Straccini who resides in Genga
Bride: Filomena Paolucci, countrywoman born in Genga, residing in Genga, age 22, unmarried daughter of living Giambattista who resides in Genga and of living Angela Cicconcelli, who resides in GEnga
And that the publication of banns of marriage took place on 5 and 12 August 1888

Next page is the extract from the register of births in 1866 - #70 - for Filomena Paolucci
On 1 May 1866 before the official appeared Giovanni Luzi, 50, elementary teacher who assisted in the birth, to declare that at 8 PM on 28 April 1866 was born a female child to Signora Angela Cicconcelli, 30, wife of Signor Giambattista Paolucci, absent from the family, age 38, farmer landowner, and that this child was given the name Filomena.
[Here is the link to the actual birth act for Filomena in 1866 - #70 (left side of image)]
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2046896

The next document (dated 12 July 1888 in Avenale) is from the Parish of the Church of S. Lorenzo - in Avenale, Diocese of Fabriano - and is a certification of the baptism of Angelo Giuseppe Romualdo [Conti] on 7 February 1861, the day after his birth. He was the son of Paolo [the son of deceased Sabbatino Conti - Azzerro(?)] and of Anna Maria [daughter of deceased Domenico Straccini] legitimate married couple. Baptism took place at 10 PM assisted by Teresa Ruggieri

Just inserted the link to the actual birth act for Filomena :-)

Do you have the actual marriage act for which this is the allegati?
Filomena's birth act has a margin notation that the marriage was on 19 August 1888 - #13 in Part I

AND I corrected the name of the declarant of her birth - surname is LUZI

ADD***

Here is the Marriage Act (#13) - Angelo Conti signed the document :-)

Oh wonderful, thank you again so much! No, I don't have the actual marriage act - in fact I am new to Italian genealogy and I thought this was it. How are you finding these images so quickly? It seems to take me forever to page through these records....

Many years of practice

Stick with it... it does get a little easier.
Be sure to look for indices at the beginning or end of each book (of births, deaths, etc.)
Unfortunately, they are not always available... and I have NEVER seen them for Allegati!

BTW - I posted the marriage act above :-)

Act of Marriage #13
Dated 19 August 1888 at 9:30 AM at the town office in Genga, open to the public.
Before the official Alfonso Perelli, acting for the Mayor... personally appeared:
1 - Angelo Conti, unmarried, age 27, farmer born in ----, residing in Genga; son of deceased Paolo who resided in Genga, and of Anna Maria Straccini, residing in this town
2 - Filomena Paolucci, unmarried, age 22, countrywoman, born in ----, residing in Genga; daughter of Giambattista, residing in Genga, and of Angela Cicconcelli, residing in this town.
Then the typed part is the formal language of the official of one taking the other according to the law....etc.
At this act were present: Giuseppe Ruggeri, 55, town employee; and Fileto Sillani, 36, vice secretary, both residing in the town.
Documents presented:
~ certificate of the publication of the banns on 2 Sundays 5 and 12 August of this year.
The spouses presented testimony that from their natural union they bore a son on 12 June of the current year, Paolo Conti, and they request that he be recognized by their marriage as their legitimate son.
The official read the present act to all the participants and signed with him, except the bride who was illiterate.

Here is the birth act of Paolo Conti, son of Angelo Conti in June 1888
The mother was not identified in the birth record.
There is a margin note indicating his legitimacy after the marriage of his parents.

Tessa, this is just amazing and I don't know how to thank you! You've given me so much to look at. I'd like to get a translation of the death record for Angelo Conti that you linked for me, for starters - shall I start a new post for that one?
