Solemn Promise to Marry- left column dated Oct 17, 1850

Appearing at town hall of Frigento was the groom to be, Marciano di Luca, age 26, a peasant born and living in Frigento. Living with him was his father, Francesco di Luca, also a peasant. His mother, Carmina Policino, was deceased. The bride to be was Felicita Pascucci, age 26, also born and living in Frigento. She was the daughter of Carminantonio Pascucci, a tenant farmer, living in Frigento and also the daughter of Maria Cipriano.

The couple had the assistance of his father and her mother who gave their free and formal consent for their children to proceed with their solemn promise to marry. Notation of this promise had been posted on the door of the town hall on Sunday Sept 15th.

The right column is the celebration of marriage in the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore dell’Assunta in Cielo on the 17th of October. Witnesses were Marciano Laurino and Marciano Pascucci.
