Solemn Promise on left dated Nov 9, 1844 at 5.P.M. in the town hall of Frigento

Appearing were the prospective groom and bride. The groom to be was Rafffaele Cocchiola, age 31, a peasant born and living in Frigento on Strada Largo de’ Celsi. He was the son of Marco Cocchiola, also a peasant, who was living with him, and deceased Antonia Branca.

The bride to be was Carminantonia Ciampi, age 27, living on Strada Largo de’Celsi. She was the daughter of Vito (Ciampi), a tenant farmer, living with her, and deceased Catarina di Pomponio.

Both fathers gave their consent.

Notification of the promise had been posted on the door of the town hall on Sunday Sept 29, 1844.

The presented documents were extracts of the birth acts of the groom and bride, and extracts of the death acts of the two mothers.

Right side: the marriage took place in the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore dell’Assunta in Cielo on Nov 9, 1844. Witnesses were Marciano Laurino and Don Raimondo Nardovino.
