Birth certificate from Avellino

My father was born in Avellino city in 1909 and I am requesting his birth certificate. I'm curious if anyone has done this before and had any information i.e. tips/tricks, turnaround time, can I fax the paperwork, should I include any money with my request, etc.?

Write them a short letter what you are looking for , dates of birth and if you have his parents names include it. I sent $3.00 and surprisingly they answer quickly. Good luck.
