Looking for Info: Caporali

Post by Caporali1 »

I've hit a roadblock on my family tree, and was hoping someone could help me.

The last person I've found on the Caporali line is Louis (Luigi) Caporali, Born in 1873 in Parma to "Frank" and "Rose" Caporali. Rose's maiden name is supposedly "Zangrandi" but I'm not sure about the spelling. Louis was married to Adele Pietrantoni and emigrated to the United States around 1903. He passed away in 1958.

I'm sure there's an alternate spelling, but I haven't found anything under "Caporale" either. (I've used Ancestry and Family Search).

I'm looking specifically for Frank (Franco? Francesco?) and Rose (Rosa?) Caporali, any other children they may have, etc. Would obviously love to get further down the line, but it seems that records for Parma have either escaped my attention or have not been entered online yet. Any help would be appreciated!

When you say you have "found" Luigi (Louis) Caporali - do you have a birth act, or are you referencing another source for the names?
Was he born in the Comune of Parma? or in the Province of Parma? We would need to know his exact town of birth to look for records...

This November 1906 arrival for Adele Pietrantoni and her two children, Maria (5) and Pietro (4) Caporali, lists their last residence as Berceto, Parma. They are going to her husband Luigi Caporali in Freeport, PA

Records for Berceto (you should be able to find a marriage for them around 1900-1901) are available online, but only when viewed at a Family History Center or affiliated library.
The marriage act would have the names of both sets of parents.

When I say I "found" him, I mean that he is the last person for which I have found documentation. I have census information, draft cards, his death certificate, and a possible immigration record for Louis. However, nothing really concrete before 1905.

I've already found the source you listed, but the Berceto records seem promising! Just have to find a way to get to a library 1800 miles away :P Thanks for your help!

The records can also be viewed at an affiliated library because of the distances for some FHC.
Check with your local library...
