Re: Military record
I've made a start on this. These military records can sometimes be a challenge. It won't be pefect but it gives you a good sketch of the content of this military record. Hopefully one of our native speakers of Italian with better understanding of military records than I have will make the necessary adjustments and add content that I may have missed or misinterpreted. On the far left side of the record are listed the personal details of the conscript like colour of eyes, hair etc. I'm finding it hard to read, but someone else might be able to pick out the descriptions.
Military Record Antonio Di Spirito born 1895:
Enlistment, Service, Promotions and other Military Changes:
Conscript 2º Category Class 1895, District of Avellino
Left with unlimited leave .......? 27 July 1915? - 1 December 1915
Went to the army - 11 December 1915
Assigned in the 2º Regiment Bersaglieri - 12 December 1915
Assigned to 14º Regiment Bersaglieri - 12 December 1915
Went in territory declared state of war - 30 March 1916
Left territory declared state of war
because he lost his left eye - 5 June 1916
Sent on absolute leave because he was
permanently incapacitated for military service from
16 May 1917 – 15 June 1917
He was granted the declaration of having held good conduct, and of having served with fidelity and honor (during his time of service in the army). - 28 May 1917
Not sure what comes next – it's basically an "official" template which has been stamped and some more official military jargon which I don't really completely understand but someone else will.
Towards the end of this section, I''m understanding that because of the wound to his left eye in combat at Val Sugana? on 5 June 1916 (as per the previous report of the 2nd Bersaglieri N.313 on 4 February 1917) he was authorised to wear the dictinctive badge of honor which had been established with Circ. 182 G. Ebb. 1917.
Campaigns, Actions of Merit
Towards the bottom I understand that it says that he was "authorized to wear the National War Memorial Medal 1915-1918, ....."
He was also granted the War Cross of Merit with Determination????? on 28 March 1925.
So, you can be very proud of your ancestor. Great that you have this military record.

Re: Military record
You are very welcome. I always enjoy the challenge of these military records. It might still need a little tweaking.

Stature: 1?,9m Chest 0,90
Hair Colour: Brown and straight
Nose: greco = greek?
Chin: oval (ovale)
Eyes: blue?
Colour: brown? (bruno?)

Re: Military record
Thank you for verifying, and for filling in the gaps, mmogno. I've really enjoyed looking at the pics and seeing the details in the medals as well.
