Notation before mother's name?

Post by jml1991 »

Hi all,
I am curious about the notation that appears before the name of the mother, Dorotea, on the attached baptismal certificate, from Prizzi Sicily in 1628. Since I can't find any other children born to her after this date, I am wondering if it indicates that she died before the baptism took place. Any thoughts?
Thank you!
