Hello! I asked this before but, after speaking with a relative I have more information!
My great grandmother came from Frigento, Italy. She had a limp so she was held in ellis island for 4 days. This took place around March 3rd, 1913. She was then released, and was noted to have been en route to her pre-arranged marriage husband Vincenzo in Waterbury, CT.
My relative said it was common to get married right away even a day after arrival as that's common in Italian catholic customs.
I don't have an exact marriage date or location anywhere, i'm checking if anyone had an idea which city to possibly send a request for their marriage certificate?
Thank you!
*Note, my relative told me it couldn't have been before ellis island because Vincenzo almost backed out when he found out she had a limp.
Marriage Question
Re: Marriage Question
Was Abbondandolo her maiden name?
Re: Marriage Question
Antonia Abbondandolo was her mother.
Francesco Calo was her father.
Margherita Calo (the child of the parents above) is the person I'm looking for.
Her married name would be Decarolis as she married Vincenzo Decarolis.
Re: Marriage Question
I found the document! This is solved! Thank you
