He was a studente. The mother of Filomena Costantino was a Caprarulo. Surname is still found in Senise.

Thank you Erudita. You mentioned the town of Senise. Is that where Filomena's mother was born or resided?

Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you sooner. Been away, Here's Filomena's birth act from the town of Senise-born on May 2, 1849. Her parents were residing there. Her father was the son of deceased Don Fortunato Constantini. Her father Don Vincenzo was age 22; her mother was age 34. Filomena's baptism was on the 7th.

For you info, in Filomena's marriage record, on the line which begins with her mother's surname, the last words of that line are "quest'ultima nata", and then the next line begins "nel comune di Senise." The words "quest'ultima" meaning "this last one" refer to the bride in the record, or to Filomena.

Re: Luigi Pasquale Allegretti and Filomena Costantini
Thank you Erudita for the follow up. I hope by your “Been away” you were out doing something fun!
Now that you explained what is written I can see what I did wrong when trying to translate with Google Translate. Google Translate is a great tool when the handwriting is as clear as this document but if one letter is entered incorrectly there is no English translation or worse yet the incorrect translation. Any suggestions on how to get a better translation without having to ask for help so frequently?
Grateful for all of your help,
Karen

Re: Luigi Pasquale Allegretti and Filomena Costantini
Hi Karen
We were visiting our kids and granddaughter out of state-visits which are certainly never long enough for me.
Anyway, I'm always happy to help you. Glad I found Filomena's birth record but, so far, have been unsuccessful in finding her parents' marriage record.
As to google translator, while it can be somewhat helpful, it certainly has its flaws. I learned that a long time ago when trying to communicate with distant cousins in Argentina. I can read Spanish but have never studied that language and can't go from English to Spanish. Those cousins begged me to write only in English, as they understood my English better than the Spanish being given to me by the online translators. Anyway, you just have to keep at it and hopefully the records will get easier to decipher so that you don't miss important info such as Filomena's place of birth. It does help though to have studied the Italian language and to know something about its grammatical rules and such.

Erudita.
My library offers free access to Rosetta Stone which my husband and I are signing up for this fall. Hopefully that will help with the translations as well. I the meantime I am thankful you and all the other volunteers on the forum are so generous with your help.

That's great, Karen. I think you'll end up knowing much more than I do. It's been too many years since I studied Italian in college, but a lot of the information is still in my head, at least when translating from Italian to English.
