Post by RichieFlip73 »

Looking for translation assistance. This is my Aunt Mary. Full name is Maria Santa FIlippone. She was the oldest of 3 siblings. The two youngest were born in the US, including my grandfather. The entry on this page is #150.

Thank You!

The year 1892, the 12th of November 12, 1892 at 10 a.m. at the town hall of Giraci Siculo.

Before me, lawyer, Lorenzo Rigio Maggio, extraordinary commissioner for communal administration, official of the town of Geraci Siculo, appeared Pia Glorioso, age 36, midwife, domiciled in Geraci Siculo, who declared that at 12 PM yesterday, Via del Gallo, of Gaetana Alesso, home maker, wife of Giovanni Filippone, driver, both residents of Geraci Siculo, was born a female child who was presented to me, and to whom was given the name, Maria Santa.

To this act the following witnesses were present. Gaetano Corradino, age 48, peddler, and Spallina Bartolo, age 46, ______, both residents of this town.

Bartolo Spallina was a shoemaker. Also the midwife declared the birth in place of the husband, Giovanni Filippone, as he was absent.
