No Parents on Death record

Record # 43 on the right side of this link lists witnesses, but not parents as far as I can tell. I also have not been able to find a marriage record which might yield the parents. They had a son Stefano who was born on March 21, 1820 in Polizzi Generosa, so the marriage was probably before 1820 and marriage records start at 1820. Would appreciate any help in finding the parents of Giuseppe Cascio.

Have you tried Familysearch? I did a search of the name and some do pop up from Polizzi Generosa. Also you might try to find a sibling of Giuseppe Cascio, It may yield the info you want. Sometimes you have to go sideways to go back. But look through the Familysearch records, there might be names you recognize.

I've tried Family Search. I have no siblings for him - he's the end of the line for my Cascio branch. He can also appear as Lo Cascio.

I have him in my tree as the son of Giuseppe Cascio and Maria Scarpa, as listed in the transcription at http://www.polizzigenealogy.com/. Sometimes parents' names are left off the actual record and included on the index, although more commonly it is the other way around. He had a sister Stefana born in 1818 as well as 1824, both died as children, but this shows the importance of the name to his parents. I'd bet Giuseppe's father's name was Stefano from the names in the records, but that is just a guess.

Actually this is the Giuseppe Cascio who was married to Maria Scarpa, not a son. I'm trying to find his parents.
We know that this is the right person because his widow remarried in 1834 and the Allegati records (actually pages 2-3 of the marriage record) mentioned that her first husband was Giuseppe Cascio who died May 10, 1831.
