1887 Atti Di Nascita illegitimate baby?

Post by TBellocchi »

I am needing help understanding why Contrasse Matrimomo is crossed out and replaced with “venne legiti... (illegiable)”. I’ve gone through the legible cursive sections using google translator and nothing stands out (that I have been able to translate) to be the reason for this. Possibly they were not married at time of birth? Documentation later on gets more strange as my G-grandfather lists a different woman as his mother in a 1917 marriage record.
If anyone can help me make out what may be going on here, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
T
