Questions regarding my family search

Post by jcharles0076 »

Hello,

I have some questions regarding the search for my family in Italy and trying to obtain more information and/ or even possible photos of them if any.

I have managed to find several birth records for several family members and am wanting to find marriage records and death records/ grave sites. So far from what I found it seems that most of my grandfather's side of the family, Spinella, came from Lipari.

What is the best way to try to search for marriage records and death records if I don't know the date that they were married or passed on?

Is there really any way of knowing if there are currently relatives of my grandfather's family that may still live there in Lipari?

Also, what is the best way to find which cemetery they may have been laid to rest in?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Look for indexes and start with them. If you don't know the date married, but do know the year the first child was born, start with that year and go back in time. Death dates are harder. Even if you start with the year the last child was born, they could have lived many years after that. Use this link for the Mormon website and go down to the Italy, Messina links to find Lipari. https://www.familysearch.org/search/col ... %3A1927178

There is also an Italy website with much the same information; sometimes more, but that website has had problems even coming up the last couple of days. Here's the link, but it may not come up for a while - http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/?q=gallery
