Translation help for death record

Post by nhmarsh »

Attached is the death record of Giulia Puccetti Paganucci No. 989. I would like some assistance and translating the information about the deceased. Especially the information on her place of birth and mother’s name. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Mother's name is not given. It is likely that the declarants did not know her mother's name since she was 78 years old.

#989
Giulia Puccetti, daughter of Marco, widow of Francesco Paganucci.

Dated 23 December 1902 at 2 PM at the town hall.
Before the official in town of Lucca, appeared Cesare Pasquinelli, 42, farmer; and Primo Marsili, 20, farmer; to declare that at 1 AM today, at the house in S. Alessio, died Giulia Paganucci, age 78, housewife residing in S. Alessio; born in ??? Vignola to deceased Marco Puccetti, who resided in said place, and of deceased (no name given) formerly residing in said place; Widow of Francesco Paganucci

Here is a possible death act for Giulia's father, Marco Puccetti, in 1878.
You can see that his mother's name was Giulia. :D

He is the widower of Maria Domenica Chiocca. This would probably be Giulia Puccetti Paganucci's mother.

Thanks, this gives me a whole new generation on my tree. I hadn't looked for Marco's death yet, I thought he had died much earlier. I had found the marriage record for Giulia Puccetti and Francesco Paganucci, but could figure out her mothers last name. Chiocca, seems to match the marriage record. What do you think this Giulia's last name is? Would you translate the written words before widower of Maria Domenica Chiocca?

Thanks again,
Nancy

Giulia's surname is Giammattei.

She was residing in lifetime as above [in the village of Busdagno]

Busdagno is a frazione of the comune of Gallicano.
