Hey guys!
I've been making a bit of progress with the documents for my dual citizenship request.
As the english language documents come back stateside, I'm going to need to start translating them into Italian for use by the consulate.
Does the translator need any special qualifications other than having exceptionally good translating skills? Are there any members on this board (or people off this board who come highly recommended) who you'd recommend I hire to do the translations?

Re: Hiring a translator to translate documents for consulate
Hi Robert,
I am an Italian translator specializing in vital record translations for citizenship applications. I have been doing this since 2007 and I am registered with professional translators associations both in the US and the UK.
You can see samples of the kind of documents I translate on my IG and visit my website for links to the professional associations I belong to.
That said, for most Italian consulates in the US (virtually all, except Boston) anybody can do the translation, even the applicant if he/she is fluent in Italian.
If you wish to receive a cost estimate, feel free to email me a scan of your vital records (go to my website and click on 'Hire me'). Don't forget to mention if it is urgent.
Ciao!
Paola
