Help with a letter

Post by Biff83 »

I'm helping someone write a letter to the priest of a local parish to ask if he would check who the parish priests were at the time of this person's great grandfather's baptism. What I've drafted from various sources is below. Any corrections to my poor Italian is appreciated. Thanks.

Rev. Parroco di [name of church]

29 marzo 2019

Reverendo Padre,

Also, since you say "accludo" (present) I think I would say "In caso non sia sufficiente." "Sia" deals with doubt in the present, while "fosse" is the imperfect subjunctive form, and generally deals with uncertainty about past events or things that are contrary to fact.
