I'm trying to find the death record for my wife's ggggrandfather Vincenso Mori, son of Marco.
I've found who I'm looking for in the index, but there is one set of pages missing from the record. Unfortunately, mine is on those pages.
By looking at the pages surrounding the missing ones I'm able to determine that he died in Oct 1882. What I'm really looking for is his mothers name, as well as, his age

Is there any way to find what I'm searching for? Is it likely that there would be something in the Allegati (morti) for that year?
At a loss

Not with the death allegati. If you look at some of those, you will see that those are extracted copies of death records for individuals who died in other towns-or records normally found in Part II of a particular year. You would need to find an extracted copy of the death record with the Marriage allegati, if a descendant (such as a son/daughter, or grandchild) married after the death date. The problem though is that more recent marriage allegati do not always contain those death records.

Try emailing the town, as the information should be in its registers. Give the name of the deceased and his father's first name and record number, both of which you have. Ask for the exact date of death and the name of the mother. I can't promise you will get a reply, but it's worth a try.

There's an 1869 death record for a Pellegrino Mori who died at age 77, 6 months, and 16 days on July 23rd of that year. His father was a deceased Marco and his mother a deceased Maria Angela Nomellini. Do you know if your Vincenzo who died in 1882 had any siblings? If so, it may be possible to track down his mother's name through their records. One of the declarants on this death record is a Michele of deceased Lorenzo Nomellini, age 38, and the other is a Benedetto of Vincenzo Mori, age 30.

Re: Work around suggestions
I only know the direct line through Vincenzo, but this clue might help.
Thanks

Re: Work around suggestions
This could be a brother to Vincenzo. Benedetto is the son of Vincenzo, and Marco the younger's mother-in-law is a Nomellini.
It's worth pursuing.

I looked through the 1874 marriage allegati last night but couldn't find the one which corresponded to the Oct 3, 1874* marriage you already had. The records were not always in order and, either some are totally missing, or their cover pages are, and I just couldn't find it. Maybe there is another marriage date we could use to track down the allegati and hopefully find the death record of the older Marco and confirm his wife's name.

Erudita,
I think I'm going to try the email route.
I'll put something together and PM you for an accurate translation. For some reason I don't thing throwing into google translate will come up with a functional inquiry.
