Translation request - Milazzo Maniscalo marriage 1718

Post by mjr0627 »

Seeking information on the parents name for the bride and Groom.
my great^6 grandfather is Francesco Milazzo

I think I see the date as 6 Nov 1718 - 300+ years ago... Wow.

Groom Francesco Milazzo
Bride Innocentia Maniscalo

Grooms father - Gregorio Milazzo
Grooms Mother - Anna

This one is very confusing..... to me at least.

I think the spelling is slightly different on the bride's first and last name - see red above. I think the bride's father is Vito Maniscalco.

The groom's father, Gregorio, was deceased. His mother Anna was living. The groom had never before been married.

The bride was a widow. Her deceased husband was Filippo Crapa. Her father was deceased. His first name is difficult to decipher. I'm wondering if it could be Isidoro/Isidore. Her mother was living. Her first name was Vita.

Thanks Erudita.
I will work on finding baptism records and death records to see it that helps with this one.
Very difficult indeed.

There's an Isidoro Maniscalco listed on the right side of the page-8th entry down. I can't find the record though.

Thanks very much..
I'll find it.. Sometime the index comes before or after the listings and sometimes they just aren't even there..

That is the record which goes with the index but it looks like it's a death record for a 4 year old, so it can't be the bride's father. Sorry. I'm finished for tonight.

Here's the index with her first marriage to Filippo Crapa f 200 and also the record. Her father was alive at the time, but she had been previously married to Innocenzio Oliveri, when she married Filippo on Sept 8, 1709. Her father's first name is clearer in this record. I have it correct.
