town of birth help, pls

Post by dmt1955 »

any thoughts on the decedent's town of residence

the line reads "Ferrara di San Giovanni a ????? passagio per Ariano." however, the mother's surname is Ferrara and I wonder if the Ferrara in the town name was just an error. That said....can't locate either.

thanks for your efforts.

For what it's worth, I'm reading what looks like "domiciliato ... Ferrara di San Giovanni a Piro di passaggio per Ariano"?

I don't know the little word before Ferrara. Maybe it means he was living in San Giovanni a Piro and staying with someone by the name of Ferrara; or maybe Ferrara is a little hamlet nearby?

Not sure if I'm being much help, Donna.

thanks so much, Angela. i am pretty sure the word is 'in' - i have learned that this writer does not always use a bridge connecting each side of the 'n'.

as always, i am most appreciative.
