Need assistance in translating marriage document.

Post by real763 »

Hello, I apologize if this post is a duplicate. I tried submitting this yesterday and it doesn't appear to have gone through.

I could really use some help translating this handwritten document. I believe this is a marriage document and not the intent to marry but I can't be sure. This is for my great-grandparents, Francesco Mazzei & Maria Bianco. I know they are from Caraffa di Catanzaro and it looks like the marriage took place on March 6th, 1871, but that's about all I can make out. Any help with the vital information would be greatly appreciated since I have no other information about them other than their names. It would be great to find some other clues. Here are the links:

Record #5 (continued page 2): https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-8943-RD69

Thank you,
Laurie

Appeared
Francesco Luigi Mazzei unmarried, age 28, laborer, son of Serafino, laborer and of Elisabetta Donato, farmer; residing in this town.
AND
Maria Teresa Bianco, unmarried, age 22, spinner residing in this town, daughter of deceased Pietro Paolo and of [living] Elisabetta Sulla, farmer, residing in this town,
...with the intention of uniting in marriage. They presented their birth acts and certificate of publication of marriage banns with no opposition.
Only the witnesses signed with the official as the others did not know how to write.
