February 23, 1867, before officials of Comune of Bova, appeared Giuseppe Delfino, son of Demetrio (Delfino), age 23, laborer, domiciled in Bova, who presented a male child born on February 21, 1867. The mother was his wife Giuseppa Matarà, age 22, seamstress, domiciled in Bova. The child was born at their residence located at the end of ____ of Signor Natali, where they are gardeners. The child was given the name of Demetrio.

Thank you.

The mother's surname is Malara.

Your translation says "the mother was his wife..." in the past tense. Is there a notation that the mother died while giving birth?

Thanks again!

Sorry, mine was not a literal translation - just giving key data and indicating who the mother was. It says that the child was born of his wife, Guiseppa Malara, but there is no indication or any reason to believe that she died.

I apologise if "ground" is not the correct translation; here, they mean a piece of cultivated land.
