Help with the Latin translation of Maria Borghesio birth record 1799

Post by jrbak »

Good Evening,
Could I have some help in translating the Latin birth record of Maria Madalena Borghesio, (on pg. 98) my 2nd great grandmother. I would appreciate the help in additions or corrections please.

1877 18th hour of August in the church (as stated prior).
Maria Madalena Borghesio, the natural and legitimate daughter of Giovanni, (son of Peter) and Anna Maria (Baratto), (daughter of Peter Baratto) ? Borghesio....3 days before?...cannot translate the rest.

Thank you so very much for your assistance.

Dear Erudita (Erudita74),
Thank you once again for the translation of this document as it is part of my family. I am happy to see I was able to translate a little with practice. Thank you for telling me that the father's were both deceased. Where do I find this word? I also did not know Anna's middle name. Also two d's in Maddalena. And, Domenica, a sister? All these little things are important. I do appreciate your help so much.
Talk soon,

Hi Erudita (Erudita74),
I think I am correcting my own record here. I think it should be 1799. Evidently I was thinking of another date/record of someone else when I placed this 1877 on this. I was way off.
My Best,

Yes, I'm glad you caught the error. The year was 1799. The word "quondam" which appears before each of the father's first names indicates that they were deceased. It literally translates to "formerly," or "at one time."
