Help with translation of marriage record of Giacinto Benedetto

Post by jrbak »

Good Afternoon,
I am in need of help translating the marriage record of Giacincto Benedetto and Domenica Marzone. I can only make out the names and a few others in the document but not enough for complete sentences. On pg. 5:
Benedetto: 20 January 1787
Giacinto from Giuseppe Benedetto and Domenica from Giuseppe Marzone....this is far as I can go. Any translation help is appreciated so much.

Thank you so much,

After their names is mention of the three banns of marriage announced at the Holy Mass, according to the terms set forth by the Sacred Council of Trent. I can see that one of the banns was on the feast of Saint Stephen, which should be Dec 26th, but the date is not given in the record. Then I see mention of the Ephiphany, which would be Jan 6th, but again the date is not given. I don't see anything specific about a date for the third bann. These banns resulted in no impediments to the upcoming marriage. Witnesses were Gaspare, son of deceased Bartolomeo Iula, and Lorenzo, son of deceased ? Borat.

That's all I can decipher from this record. Hopefully Pippo or mmogno will be around to correct anything or make any additions.

Dear Mmogno,
Thank you for taking the time to write out the Latin for me so that I can see the Latin and the English (from Erudita's translation work as well. I went back on and was able to make out so much more of the Latin and then translate for myself- (for the most part) as I was going along with the words. It gets a little easier as I learn more of the words and their meanings. Thank you so much! Have a good evening.
