Good Afternoon,
I have been working on my paternal family line and was wondering if someone would be able to follow the names through with the information I have at hand to see if this follows a logical and right (correct) direction especially as I get into the 3rd, 4th and 5th generations. Some of the records use either one or two or both of the given names which has me wondering if I do have the correct records. Thank you so much.
1. Luigi Negri, my great grandfather in Piverone, Italy.
October 28, 1855 at town hall in Piverone in the parish of San Lorenzo, Comune of Piverone, a male child was presented to the church, born the 26th of October, son of Giovanni Negri
March 22 1883
Groom: Luigi Negri, 27 years old, wood worker, born and residing in Piverone, son of Giovanni and Domenico Bocca
Records of two other children born of Giovanni confirm him as their father and mother also.
2. Giovanni Negri, my 2nd great grandfather.
Birth
Jan 4, 1817
Giovanni (Negri), legitimate and natural son of Giuseppe (Negri), the son of deceased Domenico Negri and Anna Ambrosio),
1893 Death Record No 4 Giovanni Negri (father of Luigi Negri) son of deceased Giuseppe:
Giovanni Negri, 75 yo, contadino (peasant), born and residing Piverone, was the son of the deceased Giuseppe Negri

Record of another son, Domenico Antonio Negri of Giuseppe confirms Giovanni as father and correct mother.

Domenico’s death record confirms this as well.
3. Giuseppe Antonio Negri my 3rd great grandfather.
Well, I try, and this is what I read...
"Die 20 8bris 1782 ....
Joseph Antonius filius legitimus et naturalis ex Dominico ex Joseph A... et Anna ex ... Ambrosio jugalium Negro baptizatus fuit a Reverendo Paulo Antonio Negro postridie (?) natus ... (padrini?) fuerunt Joseph Antonius Antonijj Baratta et Dominica ex Joseph Mansueto (?)"
Oct 20th, 1782
Giuseppe Antonio son of Domenico, son of Giuseppe (Antonio?) ed Anna, daughter of ? Ambrosio was baptized by the Reverend Paolo Antonio Negro, the day after birth. Godparents were Giuseppe Antonio son of Antonio Baratta, and Domenica, daughter of Giuseppe Mansueto
Researchers here at the forum believe that the name following Joseph A... in the record is Antonio.

Feb 9, 1820

Brother of Giuseppe Antonio Negri is Giovanni Battista Negri
He was baptized May 10, 1786 and his name is Giovanni Battista (Joannes Bapta) Negri, legitimate and natural son of Domenico, son of deceased Giuseppe (Joseph), from Anna Maria, daughter of Dominico Ambrosio. Jugalium Negri (married couple or spouses). Born on the same day. Can't read the other names (Godparents, I think) Joannes Bapta ex Antonio Barat et Maria Catharina ex Joseph Negri

4. Giovanni Domenico Negri is my 3rd great grandfather.
#323 15 February 1749 (in eadem ecclesia) in the same church ( I think this refers to the church of SS Petri(o) and Laurenti that are on the top of the page? Yes, the church is dedicated to both Saints)
Giovanni Domenico, the legitimate and natural son of Joseph Anthony and Anna, Jugalium (married couple), Negro natus die nono (born on day 9); what you read as 8 is really a "D", I cannot read the remainder of the Latin. except at the end- Giovanni Anthony Negro.Godparents were Giovanni Battista Amoretto (what follows
might be the place he was from, but I'm not sure, and Anna Maria, wife of Giovanni Antonio Negro
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=442795
The date is on the previous page. It looks like Feb 6, 1774.
Giovanni Domenico, son of Giuseppe Negri (groom)
Anna Maria Ambrosio (bride), daughter of Domenico, the son of deceased Giovanni Ambrosio
Banns of marriage were on Jan 2nd, 9th, and 16th
I apologize for confusing you. Yes, Domenico, called Giovanni Domenico, (Negri) in this record was the groom. His father was Giuseppe Negri.

5. Giuseppe Antonio Negri is my 5th great grandfather.
See above records for documentation.
The post would only take 9 URL's so I was not able to post the earlier ones. Sorry.
I am attaching a family view record as well. I believe this is the correct line but I would appreciate another set of eyes on this to help confirm.
Thank you so much.
