Help with decipher of surname of 1714 Latin birth record #375

Hello,
May I please have some help with deciphering the surname after jugalium in the 1714 August #375 birth record of Antonio. I believe this might be Negro but I am uncertain.

To me it looks more like the surname Ugo, which is also found in the area, today.

Just one thing that I wanted to mention. I noticed that the name Jacobi comes up in your records and that it hasn't been translated, just left as Jacobi. I'm pretty sure that the name translates to the Italian name Giacomo (James in English, sometimes Jack.)

I also noticed that you were having difficulties with reading the months and their abbreviations. Okay, the reason for the confusion would be because they were working with the Roman Calendar which only had ten months, not twelve. It started with March and ended with December. Therefore, your seventh month was not July it was September (7mbre or 7bris); your eighth months was not August, it was October (8bre/8bris) etc.

The following chart which I have copied and tweeted from another thread might help clarify:

7bre/7bris = settembre (sette=7)
8bre/8bris = ottobre (otto=8)
9bre9/bris = novembre (nove=9)
10bre/10bris= dicembre (dice=dieci=10) this can also be found as Xbre where X=10 in Roman numbers

Thank you so much for the word translation; I believe you are right as I look at it again. The priest had this little curly Q at the end of jugalium on his m that ran into the word Ugo. This will keep me from going down the wrong path. I also want to thank you so much for clearing up the numbers on the calendar. This was a great help as I kept getting these wrong each time. I would like to ask one quick question. I see that no one gets back on one of my posts and I was wondering is that because I am correct- so no one has to answer?

My suggestion to you is that you bump the post, and that you also rephrase your question, so that it is clear what you are requesting. It looks like it could be quite a time consuming undertaking, and that is maybe why nobody has replied to it? I may be misunderstanding your request though. (It also seems like you are actually making two requests?)

Die vigesima prima(21) Feb 1737 supradicta (above mentioned, I believe churches- SS Petri and Laurenti at top of page.
Joseph Antus (Antonio) quondam Laurenti (deceased Lorenzo) et Anna filia (daughter of ) Gasparis Brunella(i).

Maybe the above was confusing. I feel this is the correct record above so I wanted someone to confirm my translation but no one answered and then when I sent the second post they did not answer that either.??

I did realize after I placed that very lengthy post on when no one responded, I felt it was too lengthy and so I never followed up.

What you had written looks correct to me. Not sure why it got over looked. Possibly because you posted twice on it? That would be why it didn't come up when I did a a search on "unanswered posts" .

Just a thought. Remembering that a lot of us on the forum have English as a second language, and not mother tongue, it would be really helpful to just keep requests short, clear and to the point. Sometimes things get lost in translation.

I think you are doing really great with your Latin.
