Need help with Latin translation of 1612 marriage record for Petri Nigra and Libera

Post by jrbak »

Good Afternoon,
Would someone mind helping me with the translation of the 1612 marriage record of Petri Nigra and Libera Regis.

It states the marriage took place on the 25th of Aug 1612, Petrum (Pietro) son of Battista Nigra or (o) and Libera daughter of Etiome?? Regis.... I cannot make out the rest of the paragraph but a very few words. I think the rest has the marriage banns (I see the number 2) and concludes with the sponsors, Lorenzo Sala and Domenico ?? and ??

I appreciate your help so much as always,

I think the rest has the marriage banns on 10, 12 and 15 of the same month and concludes with the sponsors, Lorenzo Sala and Domenico (I read) Grate (though such surname doesn't seem to exist) and others from my Parish ("aliis de parochia")

Hello PippoM,
Thank you so much for the help with the corrections/ additions to this marriage record of Pietro Nigra. I will try to find Battista's marriage record now but I first have to figure out the approximate date and go from there. I just posted for help with the search of Pietro Nigra(o's) birth record; the Latin in these records is very hard because of the way they wrote. I looked and looked but could not find it and I am thinking if not found it is possible they may have lived somewhere else. It seems to me I have seen that name Grate before on records but I would not know where now. Thank you again for all of your help.
