Help with handwriting and translation of this record

Post by Colaiacovo_Search »

The script on this one is somewhat bleeding, which makes it even more difficult to read the handwriting

It's a birth record for my ancestor Cherubina D'Alessandro. Looking for the age/birth location/profession information for her parents.

Thanks so much for your consideration.

Father: Francesco D'Alesandro, 30, laborer, son of Giuseppe
Mother: Anna Maria Paladino(?), 27, his legitimate wife
No place of birth given for the parents...

It looks like the name ends with "mo" so the name is possibly "Palermo".

Yes, that is more likely in the Comune of Gorgoglione.

Here is the Marriage Notification in October 1846
Francesco Maria D'Alesandro, son of Giuseppe [D'Alesandro] and of Cherubina di Giacomo
Anna Maria Palermo, daughter of Arcangelo [Palermo] and of Rosa Gagliardi.

The Marriage in November 1846.
At the time of the marriage (but not noted on the Banns) BOTH of Francesco's parents are deceased. AND the mother of Anna Maria is deceased. Only the father of the bride was present to give consent.
