Maschio vs. Bambino

Post by Colaiacovo_Search »

I am curious... as I'm looking up a particular birth year with several of my ancestors. Many of the records for the male children say un bambino, but I realize that this one says maschio

Does this mean something different? I had read somewhere that sometimes birth order is listed, so I was curious about this.

The difference is that "bambino" means a "male child", whilst "maschio" just means a "male", but, of course, a newborn IS a child.
