Comment on death certificate

Post by cj11788 »

Hello,

The attached and link is a death certificate for Francesca DiLuca where her husband is Geronimo from Monreale. My question is on her parents. It looks like Martino and Filippa Lo'Bardo. Do you hink it's Lombard?

Thanks

Chris

That mark like a "~" represents a shortening of the word, by the omission of one or more letters.
Of course, it is used to shorten very common words, so that there can be no doubt about the meaning.
So, if Lombardo, is a very common surname in that area, your interpretation may be correct.
