Help with translation of #29 death record of 1887 for Luigia Lavarino

Post by jrbak »

Good Morning,
May I please have some assistance with the additions or corrections of this death record for Luigia Lavarino. I believe it reads:

#29 24 1887 August Parish of S Lorenzo in Piverone at 6:30 am? in her home
the deceased was Luigia Lavarino, 4 years, born in Piverone, living in Piverone. Father was Giovanni Battista and mother Paola Negri. She was buried in this municipality the following day.

Thank you,

This looks great, Jefferie.

In case you are interested:

propria - translates to "own" so died in her "own" home.

"Il cadavere estato......seguente" translates to "The body was buried in the cemetery of this town the following day."

Dear Angela,
Thank you so much for your comment and thank you for the translations; google doesn't always give me a good translation and I wondered about "propria" so now I will know how to translate these going forward. I will add them all to my list.

Happy to help, Jefferie. While google translate has its place, it can also throw you off track. Also a lot of the words we come across in our Italian records are old Italian or dialectal so they won't be programmed into google translate.

Have a nice evening.

Angela :)
