Nati Translation Luigi Nobile

Post by mikeno80 »

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2043630

Does it basically say:

Registration number 207
Nobile, Luigi Bettino Angelo

On 5 July 1870 Signor Don Nicola appeared before the official...

Signor Don Nicola Nobile ,40 landowner, son of Don Giuseppe, from his legitimate marriage to
Signora Donna Maddalena Linquiti(looks like a g instead of a q in her atti di morte),27, daughter of the late Don Fillipo

baby boy Luigi Bettino Angelo

Did I make any mistakes, and miss anything important? It's slow going, but figuring the records out a little more. My great great grandfather Girolamo was born abt 1865, right before the family search records start. Luigi is his younger brother.

Little wandering from the original post

1859 Nati Don Domenico(my ggg gf) registering a birth of a daughter Maria Elisabetta, my gg gm's older sister. Is Nicola Nobile registering the birth? What is after the name di eletto or something? My gg gf Girolamo did register births in Teano in the late 1890's.

Nicola Nobile 2* Eletto (elected) is the official who is registering the birth.

2*? 2 times? as in a second term? And exactly is an Eletto official? Just an registar, or something higher?

The mayor of the town is the official of the civil records in the town. It is he who records the births, marriages, deaths, etc. When the mayor (in Teano at the time it was Vincenzo Mongillo) is not available to do so, someone else is delegated to record the acts. This could be a councillor or another elected official. In this case it appears that Nicola was an elected official, but I have no idea in what capacity. The 2* that I read before Eletto, may mean "secondo."
