Anna Maria Avenatto was born on Sept 1, 1769-the daughter of Giovanni Pietro Avenatto and Ludovica Leone, a married couple-(spouses Avenatti)- but was in imminent danger of dying when she was born. So the midwife, who was the widow of deceased, Pietro Antonio Avenatti, performed an emergency baptism rite, as the church allowed for midwives to do so. The following day, there was a baptismal ceremony in the church. Godparents were Domenico, the son of Giorgio Domenico Leone, and Domenica, the wife of Giuseppe Sbedio.
