Carini death

Post by cj11788 »

Hello,

The below link is for the Carini death records.

The record for Giacomo DiSimone is located on the lower left side; March 30. On the same day his daughter Anna also died. On the next page his wife Francesca DiSimone(Costa) also died; April 3.

To me this is amazing. Do the certificates list how they all died? And for me the million dollar question is where did all their young children go. Does it mention anything about that?

Thanks

Chris

No, the records don't mention their cause of death.
Indeed, it often happened that whole families disappeared in a few days.
We are so worried about the virus now, but there was no defense at that time, and every year there was some (even local) epidemic.
The children were usually grown by relatives (uncles, aunts, gparents if living) but also usually treated like servants (do you remember Cinderella and her stepmother?).

Thanks Giuseppe. Very interesting.

I wouldn't have thought the children could/would be treated like servants but you bring up a good point about Cinderella.

Thanks
